So we have welcomed a new little one into our family today.....here is my beautiful Dorothy.......she is a Phalaenopsis (or Moth) Orchid......

Some more of the orchids on display today. Aren't they amazing plants? So delicate looking and yet some of them even look like alien species....

The Orchid Society of Alberta Annual Show

I expected to be the only saddo walking around the Orchid show taking pictures, but it was PACKED with people using tripods and VERY big and expensive looking camera equipment to get the best shot....

The show itself was only small but I really enjoyed it...some of the orchids were so stunning...they had huge blooms as well as a bouquet that was so small it was under a microscopic dome! The orchids in that were the size of cress stems!!! Amazing!

I also thought the show would be full of old people.....BUT I was wrong....many of the growers are quite young and many of them are men...younger men! Who would have thought!

Lloyd bought me a beautiful orchid to bring home and care for......he says it might just be my 'passion' so we should at least TRY orchid growing lol! I will photograph 'her' later! I've even named her :) The next few posts will be pictures of the show! Remember you can click on any photograph to make it bigger!

Saturday morning......

Lloyd is disgusted because I am eating a slice of chocolate cake at 10am :) It's even better the next day :)

So the phone doesn't stop ringing here any more........but it's never for me...it's the kids and their active social lives!! This morning I am dropping their friends home and dropping Susie with them...she is going swimming with them and then sleeping over there tonight.......Laurie is getting dropped at a different friends home and is staying for the day to work on a school project with him.......

Chris was invited to swim but is staying here instead (luckily his choice!) and he will babysit while Lloyd and I go to the Orchid show :)

My camera battery is charging....I am so looking forward to the Orchid show...Lloyd (as you can imagine) is ECSTATIC hahahahahaha! But he's happy to take me and thats all that matters :) He'll enjoy it even if he won't admit it :) he enjoys the quilt show even though he jokes he hates it lol!

We are going to pick up Lloyds wedding ring later...he had it resized.....I may take my watch in to be fixed too.....and my engagement ring for the new diamonds......

Well I have to take the kids friends home so I should stop eating choccy ake and go get ready!

I think I will buy a Creating Keepsakes magazine as well to read tonight in the bath :) I am hooked on crafts again atm......I have a FAB idea for some teachers gifts for Easter so I want to work on those as well as finishing the paper bag albums I started yesterday. And my hummingbird painting...I did the tail feathers last night as well.....I am inspired to create ...for the first time in months andf its a wonderful feeling :)
