A Taste of India

Lloyd and I went to A Taste of India in Sherwood Park last night....the line up at Joey Tomato's was RIDICULOUS!!!!! Ggggrrrr its crazy how you can't get into restaurants anywhere any more :(

Anyway turned out to be the best thing as we walked straight in and got a table and the service was wonderful - food was so quick and DELICIOUS and the atmosphere was lovely - and you know, you could just have been anywhere - we were joking how really, it could have been like 1am in any city in England - there we were munching n poppadums (sp?).....eating samosas and our curries and chatting with Indian music playing and we had a candle on the table and it was lovely :)

Today we drove over to Spruce Grove to get my bee hive and equipment.

Tonight it's family movie night at our community hall - Alvin and the Chipmunks. So I'm taking Abby and Laurie. Susie has gone back to a friends after school and I am meeting her at the movie and bringing her home afterwards.

The weather has turned cold BUT we have not had any snow as yet and this is a very good thing as many parts of Alberta have had a lot already...I am hoping we will avoid as much as possible - if not all of it!!!! But that wind is nasty!!! Very cold :( I hope it is gone before my bees arrive!

Have a great weekend everyone!

You decide...

Pop over to the 'Mindless Musings' blog and help decide whether it's a duck or a the Loch Ness Monster that appeared as a vision in the cheerios crumbs.....

They get such cool things appearing at their house....s'not fair!!!

updates

Just to let you know the homeschooling blog has been updated....

Springtime Lamb masks......

Yesterday we made lamb masks for a play we were making up about a nursery rhyme. They were just simple masks with cotton wool on paper plates but the children had fun making them :)

Eggheads!!

Next week we are going in to S's class to grow 'eggheads' with them all...so we started our own 'eggheads' at home yesterday. You empty an egg shell. Draw a face on one side. Place some wet cotton wool inside and then sprinkle some cress seeds on the cotton wool.

we just checked on our seeds this morning and they are already sprouting!!! :) The children are thrilled :) In a few days the sprouts will push up our of the egg shell like 'hair' for the 'eggheads' and you can cut the 'hair' :) The 'hair' tasts yummy in sandwiches or sprinkled in salads :)

(please note the yellow on the eggshell is NOT yolk - the only eggs I had were the empty shells left over from Easter coloring so I had to wash off the paint and reuse the shells lol....so they were still a little yellow in places lol)!!

Thank you letter

This is a picture and letter that A did for us to send to the Raptor Shelter to thank them for the tour we went on during Spring Break.
