McCain Cancels Letterman Taping

Patsy has a very interesting blog post today......anyone who knows me well and has discussed the election with me knows that I feel there is only ONE way to vote in the upcoming election - Democrat. I found Patsy's post very enlightening. I'm not a Letterman viewer so I wasn't following this story.

I am finding the politics in the US lately so fascinating! I know that we are having an election in Canada very soon, but to be honest I really feel that there is no one worth voting for in this country at this moment. I really feel that ALL the parties are pretty dismal right now. I guess I am hoping that the Conservatives stay in power for a while ONLY because I worry that with the economy in the States and in parts of Europe being Sooooo bad right now, I feel that a change in government might make our economy a little less stable. Perhaps if things stay as they are for now we can just ride through the storm with our economy scarred as little as possible. That aside though I'm embarrassed that all the parties are pretty pathetic and no one makes me want to vote for them. No one comes across as a 'leader'.

I still hope to live in the US within the next few years and with that in mind I find their election, their economy and their political news far more interesting.

Dragonfish?

I saw this fruit on another blog months ago - I think it was on Mighty Morphin Mamas??? It was a homeschooling blog anyway - and ever since, I have been looking for a dragon fruit in the stores but haven't found one ANYWHERE!!!! Until last week that is!!! I finally found one and snatched it up!
I thought it looked like the coolest of fruits to introduce to the children! And this one looked like a fish - so I told the children it wa sa tropical 'dragon fish'! I even gave it an 'eye'!!!!

This morning we cut it open and tried it :) Isn't it amazing inside? It actually tastes fairly similar to a giant Kiwi - sweeter I guess - juicier and much nicer!! Almost pear like!! And very attractive!
